In the case above the kextstat command returned nothing, there is no kernel space driver (kext) loaded. No variant specified, falling back to ~ % systemextensionsctl list | grep -i promise But other posters have looked up the partnumber on the power supply and found a replacement somwhere.Ĭan you verify the driver used? Try these two commands. The Pegasus2 is long EOL and we have no parts available.

Or does it shut down only when plugged into the MAC?ĭoes it shut down when connected to the old MAC mentioned? If you just plug in the Pegasus 2 (power cord only) does it boot and stay on? Or does it shut down shortly? It's difficult to do a root cause in this fashion. The promise just shuts off after about 3 seconds after the light turns blue. However, after that, where before i could mount the promise on either machine, now it won't stay turned on. Now at this point, I suspect something is wrong with the studio, maybe the thunderbolt subsystem. Started to do a rsync from the pegasus to the drive storage, and it crashed again. I decided I'd rather rsync with both drive systems attached to the mac studio.Ģ5 system reboots later, mutliple promise utiility updates, updating the firmware to the lastest, updating the userspace and kernel drives, + rebooting the promise raid and I got it to mount the pegasus. No idea why, this is probably a separate issue that I will need to address. It was working fine, but I just got a new mac studio and decided I'd migrate it from my old mac trashcan.įirst thing was I did a copy over a local network connection using the finder.

If you remove all the drives and the thunderbolt cable, same deal. My R6 powers up, reads the drives, turns blue, 3 seconds later turns orange and shuts down. Without the latest firmware the Pegasus2 will experience random disconnects and failure to reconnect after a reboot.Well, this is going to be long and convoloted. To update with this Pegasus2 firmware (v.64). But a slightly older Pegasus Utility will work. But there is an issue with the latest Pegasus32 Promise Utility and it will not update Pegasus2 firmware. The Pegasus 2 firmware was updated in 2020, the latest firmware should be used.

Note that installing this driver will delete the kernel space driver. Please use the Promise Utility and driver from the Pegasus32, they are backwards compatible with the Pegasus2. We suggest using the Pegasus user space driver with Ventura or Monterey. As I just responded to a similar issue if you don't mind I will reuse that comment.
